All over the world, trade fair organizers are forced to cancel – or digitalize – on-site events due to the coronavirus. ABIM 2020 also opted for the virtual variant at short notice. Bayer Biologicals was also represented with a booth at the “Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting”. The short-term challenge was developing a 3D-modeled exhibition booth using exhibition software and producing the accompanying communication within seven days. The goal: to network, generate leads and look after interested parties at the virtual trade fair in the same way as it would have been the case at a traditional trade fair booth.
How did we do that? For the booth, we selected the right package for Bayer's presence in the virtual congress center from seven variations. With the exact specifications of the ABIM organizer, the 3D booth was then equipped in the event software. The starting point for the stand materials: converting classic trade fair formats such as brochures, flyers, etc. into suitable virtual versions. Instead of physical giveaways at the booth, every visitor received a link to an interactive landing page with a profit function. The concept worked! More than 1,000 participants were then able to wander through the exhibition hall with their own 3D avatars, explore booths and materials and make direct contact with Bayer via live chats and video conferences.
